Acton 4/20

Headed to Acton this morning. Most people reported catching crappie. Saw a few being caught from the Sugar Camp, but mostly, it was folks like us working the laydowns from boats. Fish were staying really tight to cover for the most part, so we had our fair share of breakoffs and straightened hooks..

The tally was 1 bass (beetlespin), 1 saugeye (chart jig), 11 mixed sunfish (mostly waxies and mealworms, but one on a minnow) and 4 crappie (minnows, chart jig and beetlespin).
The crappie ranged from 8 1/2" to 12 1/2" . We kept the three largest and two nice gills. - Roberta
