Default Ever try a "Bitsy Pond Minnow"

Made by Strike King. They are nothing more than minature crank baits. I bought 6 last night at Wal Mart. About $2.30 each. Used them today and cleaned up. In just a couple of hours my son and I caught 28 crappie and ring perch slow trolling them in about 3-4 feet of water. I wasn't sure how they would work since they were so small. But that have fantastic actions and have a distinct "buzz" feel when they are trolled. Any piece of grass or strike that tangles them and they stop buzzing. They have wide, square lips and they bump around stumps without hanging up. I think I Have a new favorite:

    Default crank baits

Here the slabs feed on large 3'' to 5'' shad. Full size Bandits , Rattle Traps ,Big ''O '' , and minnow type baits trolled slow will work . Large heavy jigs on light line trolled are good. A lot of old timers still troll live minnows.

I was using the Gizzard Shad color. It was working so well that I didn't try any other color.
