Knee surgery

I have to have knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus on monday.. Anyone ever had this surgery. If so how long were you down? Doc said if he can repair it, im looking at 6 weeks. If he has to cut out the bad part of the cartlidge im looking at 2 weeks, but a few years closer to a knee replacement.

have had that surgery 3 times, the first was a longer recovery time than the others but knee was really in bad shape, need to have it done again but put it off as the cost of out of pocket insurance does not justify the short time frame before it goes bad again. just waiting to get it replaced. you should be up and walking that evening and then use a cane for a week or 2

If repaired your looking at 4-6 weeks on crutches an then once off crutches about that long for full recovery, but this all depends on how he fixes it. There are may way to do it and some take longer to get over than others, if he just removes that torn edges about 2 days on crutches and then about 3-4 weeks till full recovered.
