Hmmmmm. Mine would probably have to be a hair jig. All chartruse (sp) with a red head. Has been very effective for me in the past.
Everyone seems to have their go to color of jig. Mine for years was red head with white tail tube jig. Then the past couple of years I prefer black head chartruse tail tube. Whats yours?

Well color is not real important except in real clear or real muddy water. Muddy water would be pink/white . Stainted water purple/ chartruse or red ,green, or black with chartruse . Real clear it would be silver flake / white. Size matters when fishing for slabs, even more so in muddy water during the spring. Crappie here feed on ''LARGE SHAD mostly 3'' to 5'' ! I've caught them on every color I've tried. We experimented with colors in brushpiles and had mixed results. In most cases presentation was the key to catching fish not color!:D

Mine would prolly be a toss up between a red/char scaley head or purple/char scaley head.

My "go to" color, is whatever color the fish prefer :D at any given time or place. I change colors, and even jighead weight, often .... or until I happen upon their particular fancy of the moment. More often than not, my Elec Blue/Chartreuse "favorite" will work under most all conditions. It's when it doesn't, that I start "experimenting" with other colors. ...... luck2ya ... cp
