Cool THE BEST DARN CRAPPIE MOUNTS (Photos)

This is just about the best crappie mount that I have seen. The first shot is from Bass Pro Shops in Leeds Alabama. The second is from the Weiss Lake Lodge. That third one is also from Weiss Lake. One of those crappies recognized me and was warning others of the Danger that Shipahoy 41 was fishing. I can dream can't I. Notice the newspaper headline. That will happen this year. I guarantee it!

Anyway, that got me to thinking...how about a thread where individuals post photos of their mounted crappie, or the best mounts they have seen. I believe it will inspire us all to go catch these bad boy's grandmother. I will start it off with these. Come on and post the photos here. Have fun!

I would have mounted my biggest catch, but

    1) we had it for dinner
    2) wouldn't go with my wife's interior design scheme
    3) taxidermy would probably cost more than any piece of fishing gear I own

But I do enjoy seeing pics of folks' catches and mounts...so post away!

Russ, my friend, read my post from today on your Midwest Crappie series. This shirt was given to me and my youth group from my great friend Russ Bailey. (You!) That man has been a great inspiration to me and his videos have inspired many inner city cub scouts to try fishing. I owe you so much for inspiring confidence in them as well as in me. I have made teardrops for Bluegill and Shellcracker for over 50 years. I have tied hair jigs for Crappie for over 11 years. Last year I started trying to do soft plastic baits. It is amazing what a little confidence will do for you. When I wear your shirt I can inspire confidence in the inner city cub scouts. They all say "You got that from a real tv pro fisherman......" Which allows me to say...."That could be you one day."

So Russ, thank you.....thank you:.....thank you!

I see you are my homeboy. I was born in BG KY back in 1945. Railroad Park is dedicated to Roland Bland who is my grandfather's brother. They built it on his backyard where I used to play on Center Street.

    Nice mount.
