Garlic is always a good choise. I have bought the commecial scents for a long time. I in the last several years have found that Pam Garlic cooking spray is just as effective and much cheaper. (I do not sell or own stock in this product) HAAAAAA!

I talked to a guy that "knows" a lot about crappie fishing the other day. He caught 216 fish spider rigging in three days at Big Sandy. He really knows his stuff. He said that garlic works for bass but not for crappie. He also said he has watched crappie in a tank with garlic scented lures and it actually repels them. Now, I have used garlic on my lures for as long as can remember.

I don't know what I am going to use now that I'm considering giving up garlic on my crappie lures.

Anybody else heard of not using garlic for crappie?

I also like the bio-bait! I was very lucky, I met the inventor and he was nice enough to give me a quantity of various flavors....and it works! :D

I always use Berkley Crappie Nibbles but lately I have been trying Yum soft baits with LPT(Live Prey Technology). It is really neat how long they hold onto the bait before they spit it out.

Crappie hound I think I have to disagree with that garli theroy. I use it all the time and seem to do all right with it. I use the smelly jelly garlic or Bang garlic spray. A little side note never ever mix smelly jelly garlic and smelly jelly crawdad together. I was using both one day and got the combo on my hands.
It smells like a chemical fire or something. A really nasty combo.
