Default New "Kid" on the Board

    Hey everybody!

I've been reading these boards for a month or so and finally decided to join. I quickly realized ya'll are WAAYYY out of my league, but I've picked up a few pointers and look forward to learning even more from the pros here!

Teach me well, oh wise ones!

    Welcome Aboard "Fishaholic
Sorry to inform you but there is no such thing as "out of your league". don't hesisitate to ask questions. The only dumb question is on not asked. We all have something to learn from each other.

Look forward to seeing you posting on the board.

Welcome to the board fishaholic - I am happy to see all the recent members to the Illinois board. Looks like we finally got the state pretty well covered.

Thanks for all the kind words of welcome!

I'm definitely a neophite when it comes to this whole fishing thing. Up until last summer, I hadn't fished in many years, now I can't get enough of it! My hubby actually gets tired of me asking when we're going fishing again!

My methods (to this point) are very basic -- good ol' night crawler and a bobber. I've never placed any focus on bringing in particular species -- merely whatever is dumb enough to get itself stuck on my hook -- didn't matter...bluegill, crappie, bass, channel cat, whatever. Just let me catch something! I know there are much better methods, I just need to sift through the info to figure it all out.

The quantity of fish I catch hasn't been an issue (I almost always catch more fish than my husband), but the QUALITY has lots of room for improvement.

We've been primarily fishing small local lakes, but are limited to where we can fish from the banks...we're "watercraft challenged".

At this point, I don't know what I don't know, so I'll hang out here, read the posts and hopefully pick up a few pointers.

Thanks again for the warm welcome. It's great to be here!
