welcome to the board! great group of people here! and ton's to learn, for sure!
Hi everyone, I am new to the site and crappie fishing. Looking to make new friends and learn this crappie thing. I am a banker in the st louis area. Any advice on how and where to catch them from the bank in the winter is greatly appreciated. I also need to know what type of gear and rigs to use.
Thanks and Happy Holidays to everyone,
Chuck

why do today what you can put off til tomorrow, go fishing instead!!!
Welcome! Enjoy your stay.
welcome, not much help on bank fishing during the winter but brushed docks are pretty good at times.
Welcome to the Missouri board. If I was to fish from the bank I'd think about fishing from some docks on LOZ. I don't know any public docks but I bet with alittle help from some of the LOZ regulars you will can find a dock or two to catch some fish from. I would think you being in the banking business you might know someone who has a dock on LOZ that you might be able to fish. Anyway glad your aboard and let us know how you do.

Welcome aboard! The banker thing threw me also .. too funny. Anyway, I don't know the St Louis area at all (other than a few bars in Soulard .. which I know quite well! :p ), but I do bank fish quite a bit. Alot of people will tell you different, but if possible, I prefer to bank fish with a bobber. The extra weight can help cast further and it helps me keep from getting snagged on bottom constantly, plus you can let it sit still if they're wanting it slow. Slip bobbers will work much better if you need to get deeper than 5-6 feet.
Anyway, just my two cents.
Good luck and I look forward to some great reports!
Welcome to the site. We have several guy from the St. Louis area.
