    Default larger heavier crappie tubes?

anyone know of a company that makes larger diameter tubes meant to be fished with heavier tube style jig heads for crappie. like maybe a 2" or 2.5" tube with a 1/8 to 1/4 jig head inserted inside.

Midsouth tackle has a larger tube we use them all the time in the fall. If you are looking for a heavier jig without the big hook. Check out lakeshelbyvilleguideservice.com Steve Welch make a Deep Ledge jig that excels and the smaller hook bends easy and hardly snags. If you do get snagged a quick snap of the rod usually free it because the heavy head acts as sort of a pendulum..

I echo the DLJ that Steve and *************************. It is a size 4 eagle claw hook. I use either fireline or braid as it gets colder, to just bend the hook and not losing it. I also like the bass asasian that bass pro makes. I like the chartreuse color, some people like the christal minnow shad. The DLJ in 1/4 or 1/8 oz are perfect for these baits or the 2.5" midsouth jig.

My favorite combo right now is a 1/8 oz DLJ in chartreuse with a white and chartreuse mid south jig, under a fixed cork, right above the brush. Very good combo.

And the website, with an online store is ************************* not lake shelbyville guide service.com. That website is a different guy trying to copy Steve's success! Steve have just launched an online store through PayPal. Him and Talon, a CDC member, spent a lot of time perfecting this jig. Great balance also.

Hey, if you check out my posts you'd see. I use a Southern Pro Umbrella tube with a 1/8 oz round leadhead pushed inside almost exclusively. Sometimes with light line it may twist so I put a swivel inline up a couple feet. I like to tie jig with a tight knot so it will stick out not hang down.

Let me know if you need some pointers verticle jiggin with larger jigs. Good luck
