Default Tarpon Son and a Hawg

Went to Tarpon with my son who is down for the Holidays. Great day on water. Nice till about 9:30 when the wind and 3 foot white caps came. Tough when you troll and your 52" trolling motor comes out of the water. Tight lining with red and white hair jigs and orange, both tipped with minnows. Put 15 in live well and threw a couple dozen small ones back. Was in 6 to 10 fow. Did not weigh our big one but was 16 1/2" long.

Fair on friday, my son is holding & caught the big fish in his right hand. This morning excellent in a 1 hour period ,lake harney, 4 plus 14'' & total of 12 all above 12", excuse the photo, it was taken today & not from the 1940's don't know what happened pic. A fellow I gave my minnows to back at the dock, preceded to tell me his father, who looked over 75 was out on the water for the first time in a while due to health issuses & the boy with him was recently adopted, that scenario was a humbling reminder I get out plenty enough, so I gave them my fish as well & guess that's what makes for as good of a fish story as any, merry xmas to you & all !!
