Yea, I bet so. But youre doing the right thing making sure not to spread it to other lakes. Maybe everybody will do the same........but doubtful.
I didn't make the SEXY choice to day, instead of going to one of the big lakes and fighting the cold north wind all day I stayed close to home and hit Lake Shawnee. Spent the day chasing schools of crappie around the lake. After what seemed like catching a couple hundred or so fish I ended up with 27 eaters.
As I was loading up I notice the new sign posted(new to me), "This lake infested with Eurasian Milfoil" so it was off to the carwash to spray the boat down in case I end up at a different lake. These invasive species are making it a real pain to plan multiple days of fishing on more than just one lake

Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
an ATD!...Angler Transmitted Disease....wear your slickers people!
just realized that sounded like I was maken fun of Dan....sorry.. I wasn't
That stuff has been in there for @ least 35 yrs, I used to spend the summers out there camping w/neighbors when I was in grade school. We would catch northern pike out of that stuff from a canoe. We'd see the weeds moving & dip a red devil in there. Man what a battle on a zebco 202.
Don't lie, There's less you have to remember
I'm curious, does the carwash work for milfoil? I know it doesn't work on zebra mussels unless it's 140*f. Guess I'll check out KDWPT's website and stick with our infested lakes. Another question might be does freezing do the same as heated water? These cold nights might have the same effect?
Yesterday at Lake Shawnee was shocking for me for 2 reasons
1. never heard of eurasian milfoil in KS.
2. have never caught more than 2 or 3 crappie over 12in. at a time let alone catching 18 or 19 from 11-13in.
Hi is Shawnee lake in Lenexa ks or the one in Topeka Ks.
Thanks
