Roger (Radtexan) had posted earlier in the jig tying section about going back to basic jigs. This fall and so far this winter I have been using a very basic old-fashioned jig that has been lights out on the crappie. Lead head and deer tail, no chenille body. The profile the deer takes on when wet resembles bait fish and the action has been great. Not a great picture, but you get the idea. I did add a little to the old basic...eyes and some flash.
