    Default Creek Fishing in Texas

Crappie do some wierd things in some of our local lakes. They will head up creeks when the water temp drops into the 40s chasing the shad. Met up with a buddy Saturday and had a limit of 25 in an hour and 15 minutes. Deepest part of the creek is 7', fish were on the breakline at 4 1/2'. Only kept 11" and larger. Jig was blue head, white deer hair body in 1/8th, wtr temp 47, air temp 37-41.

I've been on a similar pattern myself. Then these last fronts iced the creeks over Now we've had a warm-up and I'll just have to give it a try. I sure like them creek fish, they're fat like me and taste better. Good job

I was on the wagon, but I've got to find another way into the creek. I'm too old to try and drag that thing up a steep. muddy slope. Going in the boat tommorrow.
