Do i have to tell you it was a cold morning? Met Slabscab at the boat ramp, He drove down the lake in the fog and cold to get there and his boat and poles were frosted over. He left his poles in the boat and with all the frost you couldn't see his line on the reels. I had my long johns, heated socks, sweat shirts, fire proof insulated cover all and ski mast on just to make the run back up the lake. It was tough for us, caught maybe a dozen fish in the first three hours and none of them worth bringing back. Finally started getting into them once the sun was warming things up. Longliner and Bugman brought in the the largest weight of 5.95 lbs. There bite was the oposite of hour, they nailed all there fish early and it slowed down in the afternoon. Speckbuster came in with the biggest fish at 1.10 lbs. Everyone met up at the boat ramp and we all had a good time, except for Seejimfish who had engine problems. We had 7 boats which was a good showing for 14 degree morning temperature.
Here are the top three:
Longliner-Bugman big fish 1.0 lbs total weight 5.95 lbs
Specksbuster big fish 1.10 lbs total weight 5.75 lbs
Goshdangfeller total weight 5.05
All the other teams (Tracker griz, Slabscab-LSL Angler, Tmcdaniels, Seejimfish-Lipripper) were in the upper 4 lb range so it is very competitive and fun. We hope to get more teams to show up when the weather warms up.
