I only use plastics, usually southern pro grubs, but have a wide selection of color/sizes of other baits such as tubes, minners, etc., in the boat. I use 6lb hi viz line on a light or med light 7' rod usually anywhere from .7 up to 1.2 mph depending on what the fish want.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

My all time favorite bait is the Bobby Garland Stroll'r. I use to it to long line troll and spider rig with. It gives off a ton of vibration in the water as well. They also have the very best crappie catching colors.

When you guys troll with minners or grubs, how do you know at what depth you are running? I know with crankbaits, there are charts an all, but I know of nothing for jigs, minners and the like.

Crappie shinners and bass minnows work well. I make up my own capps andand Coleman rigs and use 1/16oz roadrunners on the bottom and #2 red mr. Crappie hooks on top with 1/2 oz to 3/4oz weight.
The southern pro hot grubs and stinger shads are nice to slow troll with also.
When its hot I like to troll crankbaits
