    Default Old Hickory

Catt, I have Crappie fished Old Hickory for many years and this is a good time to get em. The boat docks are really good as they are year round but ones on the creek channels with a little more water under them are the best. I fish Cedar Creek and Spencer Creek the most but I also know that Station Camp is a good one too. I love to pitch the docks and even get out and walk them so I can get in the shadow areas. The shadows are always the hotspot. I heard Old Hickory is in drawdown until Dec 2 for repairs and I have never caught a thing when this is going on. Old Hickory is a great winter Crappie lake for me. I have some docks that are in 5-7 feet of water and they hold fish year round, really good in Jan, Feb, and March on the warmer days with a south wind that usually blows like a hurricane. I am going to have some heart work done in the next week and then I will be able to get back to fishing and give you a better first hand report. Good luck and let us know what you do. Speck
