This season is already better than one in recent past that went from summer to winter in about a week.

Living in Ohio, I always get a chuckle when snow hits the south and the panic sets in :)

Same here! I live in northern Illinois but used to do a lot of business in Texas. I was in Dallas once when they got 1/4" of snow. You'd have thought it was the end of the world; businesses closed early, schools sent the kids home. I thought it was a nice enough day to play golf.

Growing up in the Colorado Rockies I got used to "winter" being 9 moths of the year. Granted I lived at 9,100 elevation, roughly twice as high as Denver. Was nothing to get 6' of snow during the year. Now that I live in the flat lands of Illinois I get highly disapointed when tehy predict snow and we get nothing. LAst 5 years of so we have gotten some decent storms, 8" a pop. I love it.

Let it snow, let it snow....

Ditto. I lived 20 miles from Cleveland for over 30 years. Now they get excited here in Alabama when they get snow flurries.

Dunno about dropping like flies, I spent 4 years at Ft. Hood and used to fish during the summer. All the local boys thought I was crazy and spent the time in the air conditioning...

Maybe in the 50's and 60's. Shoot, I've got relatives in Ga., Fla, Ten, NC and Ky--can't pry them outa the air conditioning in the summer until after dark, unless it's to jump in an air conditioned car to go to an air conditioned store!!
