    I'm having a terrible hunting season . I'm ready to get back on the water at Smithville . Whats the latest pattern ?

    I've been getting them in 12'-18' fow suspended from 6'-10' with a super slow presentation. Brush piles & standing timber have produced also.

    Heading out in a few minutes...seems kinda windy so I might hit the river portion..got the turkey in the oven already,dinner rolls rising,stock and roux made for gravy-yep..work thanksgiving so today is our turkey day....might have some fried crappie for a side dish if I'm lucky

    I'm going to hunt this weekend and plan to hunt whenever we have a cold front come through. When its too warm to hunt , I'm going to get back on the water again. I found some fresh buck sign and I'm determined to put one on the ground with the bow. I have passed up a bunch of young deer while waiting on the big one to show , but I'll take a mature doe now if I get a shot opportunity.
    My goal is to fill the freezer with venison and some crappie fillets.
