    Default Spring Crappie

I got on the water on Normandy Lake around six thirty and the bite was immediately on. I started off in 12 to 15 feet over water fishing around six feet deep, then moved up to the banks in 6 to 8 feet of water fishing at three feet even. Picked up four real, real nice ones. Caught more dinks than I could count and one catfish that made a 12 foot rod snap(Got him in the boat anyways). Here is one pic from today. Anyone care to guess the weight of the one in my left hand? All four were released to my neighbors pond in the background. Didn't want to clean only four fish.

Great catch J.....I did some measuring knowing first hand how big you are....With the angle of the dangle minus the length of the fish from your chest I came up with 2.6 lbs...How close am I??????:D

14 inches looks to be close, I'll guess she weighs about 1 3/4 lbs.

Big J, that's a beautiful place your friend has, well manicured and with a nice pond with benches. Give him my regards!

That pond is awesome. One of the nicest I think I've ever seen.

Very nice fish. How 'bout 2 lbs exactly?
All in all you're just another fish on my wall.

Hi Fatboy....it was good to meet you at crappie camp....I'll go with 1lb.14oz. I'm sure I'm wrong because I've seen other fish about that size on other posts and they said they were 3-4lbs.....good fishing and tight lines to ya!

I told DonG it was 2.62, but after looking at my handy dandy pocket calendar, sorry, it was only 2.42. Not a bad fish for around here. Anyways, I enjoyed catching it. Notice, no elbows bent. Word has it some folks don't like that. LOL By the time I get through telling the story, it will be close to 3.02
