    Default No Green Carp...

were harmed in the making of this post. Dad and I hunted all day Friday, then gave up on the 30 mph wind on Saturday and went out to try and catch some slabs on Truman. Found em on stumps in creeks, about 3-6 feet of water. Black and chartreuse Slab Busters were the best. Wound up cleaning 16 good eaters, didn't catch any real hogs. Picture is of a bass I "accidentally" caught--knew I was in for a ride as soon as I set the hook on this guy, and he was a hand full on a 10' jigging rod. Thought my dad was gonna choke when I took a couple pictures and put him back, but I hope the next guy has as much fun catching him as I did.

LOL thats the first thing that i saw when the pic popped up.Gee wonder where they were at?
That has got to be the biggest cockleburr crop i have ever seen year after year.
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

Nice work on those slabs......and that bass is nice too, they sure fight hard. The wind messed up our deer hunt also on Saturday.....we shoulda went fishing too.
We do not want the gift of a fish; neither do we expect a lesson on fishing; what we direly need is a chance to fish
