    I was wondering what everyones favorite line is for jig fishing for crappies?
    braid,mono,flourocarbine?
    # test?
    brand name?

    any toughts

    Fireline Hi Viz braid, 10#/4# diameter for everything except shootin docks. If the water happens to be really clear I'll use a clear floro leader...but the Texas lakes I fish usually aren't clear enough to worry about it.

    Open Water:

    standard conditions - GAMMA 4# clear Polyflex or GAMMA 4# Hi-vis gold Polyflex (both .008" diameter)
    tough conditions - GAMMA hi-vis gold 2# Polyflex OR GAMMA 4# clear ESP Ice (both .006" diameter)
    real tough conditions - GAMMA 2# clear ESP Ice (.004" diameter)

    Ice:

    all conditions - GAMMA 2# clear ESP Ice

    i pitch jigs most of the time and prefer Mr. crappie or
    Vicious Hi Vis in 4# Test. Have tried a number of other
    lines and find myself going back to the ones that work
    for me.

    p-line premium, #6 and #8, try it you will like it. the very best all around mono out there. in my testing it breaks about a lb higher than what the label says. and the diameter is smaller that others of the same strength.
