Should have known Bait shop wasn't open at 7:30 and no trailers at W ramp about 8:00 that it might have been A SIGN. Wasn't to windy early. Went over to brush piles south and east of bridge in cove. Caught a few smalls and son-in-law Kemper 654 caught one 10" an 11" and a 12" on black and silver and black and chartruese rigt at the top of the pile.. Started getting to windy about 10:00 and called it quits. Will see about next week. Had a good 2 hours.Gave em away to a couple that hadn't caught anything.Hands Clapping

I don't stop at Burton's often, but when I've driven by I've noticed you never really know when they'll be open .. I guess that's a winter thing. I assume you were talking about Burton's.

I made it out with a friend Saturday and that wind was something else. We actually tucked into a few coves and fought through it, but it was pretty much unfishable. We didn't have much luck at all.

    Thanks for the report!

It was a good couple hours on the water even with only a few fish caught. We had a bald eagle fly within a couple hundred feet as it was stalking some prey in the cove. The few crappie we caught hit our jigs sitting still.
