    Default Anchoring Question ...

I was taught to always anchor at the bow and then if another anchor is desired to do it at the stern with a snubber line - this was always on really big boats. I now have a very small boat and want to anchor from the side, near my seat. Do any of you do this? Is it OK to do on a small boat? Advice is appreciated.

You should have no problems anchoring from the side. I have done it many times even in a canoe. I have heard people say that it is not good to do this because waves hitting the side of your boat could be bad. As long as your anchor does not hold your boat SOLID you should not have any problems. This means that your anchor will give a little in waves or the wake of another boat.
To make life enjoyable, you must have crappie days.
