It's getting cold up here. Water in the low 40's and breezy conditions. Water is not that clear anymore either. But I've been getting out for a few hours every other day or so, before the water turns to ice. My question for you folks is this: I usually switch from a curly tailed jig offering to a solid tube bodied bait.....then to a hollow tube.....as the water continues it's cooling off cycle. What do you folks do?

The colder the water, the more I like marabou.

1/48 to 1/100 jigs and vertical cast.

I use what the fish tell me to use. If I'm not catching and I know the fish are there until I find the right presentation. I usually start with something that is close to natural is looks and go from there. I use a straight tail mostly but have had days when the curl tail was all they wanted. I have also started with a 1/8th jighead that worked just a few days earlier and wound up with a 1/64 that boated a fish on most every cast. Colder water does usually call for a slower, less active presentation, some call it dead sticking. Hope this helps.
