Default etrex 30 (or any GPS)

I am in the market for a new GPS for about $300.00 I have had a map 76 for about 8 years and it is just not working very well anymore. Does anyone have this unit, and if so what do you think about the unit. Or anyone have a better suggestion for some other unit. I like garmin. Thanks for any help.

    Cool coords

I don't think it matters what you use to get the coords.
I suggest you get a copy of Navitronics to put them in.
Even the $10 one works pretty well. I have never seen it at BPS
but Cabellas used to carry it.
    Thumbs Up

The etrex 30 is a nice unit. I have an etrex legend HCS which is one step down - love it. I also bought and loaded the garmin topo and lake maps which are excellent. I suggest before choosing, look at what software is available. That's what I did. Good luck.

thanks for the help. Went and put my hands on the units. the etrex was just to small. would not be able to see much from my seat. went with the oregon 450 on sail for under $300.00 and twice the size of the etrex. Wish everything didnt have to be so complicated more stuff i dont need than what i will use.
