Default Got this guy today. [pic]

He weighed 7 lbs 1 oz and was 30.5" long. He hit a 1/16 oz jig with a minnow on 6 lb test. It was a great battle, I was lucky to get him in by myself. The crappie were few and far between today, I ended up with 3 in the boat and missed a few. A great day to be on the lake.

Nice one. Glad to see you got that crappie eater out of the water.

How far did you have to follow it with the boat before you were able to land it?

That was the tricky part. I just maneuvered the boat so he wouldn't get into my other two lines. I turned the (what I call) the clicker switch off so I could back reel on him.

I love their colors and wish we had them here in KY. We get to put up with muskies instead and though they put up one heck of a fight on crappie gear, they stink up the boat more than anything else that swims. Good fish!
