For some reason I don't get many tangles with Specs. But gar and stripers can sure make a mess of things real quick. Good report.
Went up to tarpon and tried jigging the grass and some piles. After about a hour and a half decide to go tight line. Good move. Cught about 30 plus, kept 15. Were in 10 to 12 foot of water, water temp71, and it did not matter what was on the end of the line if it was tipped with a minnow. Largest was 1 1/2lb. what i liked was I they were all fat, eating well. I had a 10" that wast 3/4 lb.. Just learning to tight line so it was nice to see them active. Most I ever caught tight linning. I see these guys with 8 poles or more off the front and wonder how they do it. Would have went nuts myself yesterday, I would have been in a spidders web myself at one point.

Good report Vince, Spider riggin is really fun when they are on, but as Huntinslabs
says, Gar & cats can really make a nightmare of a good thing.............Always keep
additional leaders ready. Cut & retie is best answer to GAR situation regarding
tangles and you still have you "long pole tips" in one piece.
Hope the trend continues into weekend of November 5th.........FCC tournament
will be there and that should be fun.................
Cut and retie or just break the gars jaws. I had to do that was fishing did not think about the gars teeth becuse was having a ball tying to get back in the water and some how he got a hold of my hand had alot of litle holes in it s I got mad and broke his jaws and amazingly my hook got free.

These are the few I kept for dinner. Threw most of the bigger ones back to grow. Needed some time to get them off my phone. As far as which ramp. The one off of east lake.
