    Default Transducer Problems?

I have a 2005 Bass Tracker PT175. When on plane, my dept finder displays the last depth before getting on plane and does not change again until I slow the boat down. I have lowered the transducer, made sure it was between the ribs on the boat (aluminum). Nothng has worked. It is supposed to be a high speed transducer (Lowrance X37TX-came with boat). Nothing has seemed to work.

Has anyone else had this problem? Did you fix it? If so, what did you do?

Thanks for any advice that may resolve the issue.

Try raising it up,sound's like it's catching air.Go to Lowrance's website and look up transducer installation.

The most likely fix will be to tilt the transducer forward a bit.

I have raised her up and down, tilted one way and the other. Nothing works. Just ain't going to worry with it anymore. It worked fine for the first nine months. One day I will replace it with something other than a Lowrance--no offense to Lowrance fans.

You can have someone drive the boat for you and peek over the transom during this time of "incorrect depth reading" and it might give insight into whether the Xducer is ,indeed, in "clean" water....

Be very careful when doing this and don't fall out of the boat...

I have the exact problem with another brand of fish-finder that is still under warranty. The transducer has been moved 4 different times
on the aluminum boat and tilted in every direction with no results. The fellow at tech support thinks it is a problem with the transducer,
I will have a new transducer in a few days and try it. The old fish-finder was a lowrance x25 and worked fine for many years until it smoked
