Stren Gold is the best that I have used.
THE BANDIT
I just started fishing again after 28 years of not fishin. My lookers arent so good anymore and I cant see the darn 4# line on my ultra light set up. Are there any light lines which are of a more visable color. I have seen red and a couple others in catalogs but dont know how they might work? thanks.

I agree with Bandit... Stren Hi-Vis Gold is all I use when I need to watch my line.
CATCH A BIG-UN
I don't use line I can't see. I use the Gold Stren on one pole and the Solar Mint (bright chart) Trilene Ironsilk on the other. Each are great lines and easy to see.

I used stren hi vis for years but i tried mr crappie hi vis last year and love it,it is some of the best line i have ever used and is a fraction of the price of the stren.

My corneas are shot so I use Ironsilk hi-vis green. I like the six pound, but you can get it in four. The Mr Crappie stuff is easy to see, too, but Ihad trouble with memory. - Roberta

Glad to see this question of line visibility come up. Does the hi vis line seem to effect the crappie, or do you use a leader of clear mono? My Berkley 4-6 pound can disappear on a clear day, and not sure if my line is in the water under the lights. Your opinions are great.

I haven't fished any "gin clear" waters, with hi-vis lines .... but, I haven't noticed a decline in my catch rate (on the stained water lakes I fish). I use yellow lines (PowerPro 10/2 - Stren Gold 4lb), "green" line (Trilene Iron Silk 6lb), and "photochromic" (Trilene) ... on outfits that are used where I have to "see the line" (casting, shooting docks). If I'm using "clear" lines ... I'm tightlining, trolling, or using a float with those outfits (situations where the "strike" is indicated by something other than the line) ......... cpOriginally Posted by oldtimer
