Question help!!! weak tilt and trim

I have 100 hp 1979 evinrude that the tilt and trim works when there is no load on it. When on the water at speed the nose of the boat is to low and the trim will not raise it like before. Its triming up some but not enough. It feels like it is coming up about half as far as needs to. Does anyone know where to start loking for the problem.

Check your fluid level. If the fluid is ok it may be a weak pump.

I had the same motor on a pontoon. It would only raise up while idling or out of gear and would fall back down when I gassed it. I had the pump rebuilt and it work fine. I never asked them what caused it but they put all new seals in it.

I am off to Johnathan for the rest of the week. Bye.

Mine was doing that when I first got it. I added a little bit of Trans-X as a temporary fix. Over 3 years layer, its still working good. This stuff helps expand worn out seals but i didn't expect it to last this long.
