    Default Smithville 10/16

Got a chance to go for awhile, haven't been in a month, the wind was tough. Caught 1 13" in 2 ft of water off of a shallow flat and alot of short fish. Once the wind started to die a little early evening we moved out to try some of the main lake brush piles. We only put 7 keepers in the boat. Fished minnows and jigs both fish seemed to prefer the jigs on the very shallow flats and minnows on the brush piles. We fished 12'-15' in18-20 fow.

by the way JMO I am not real crazy about the new sub forum set-up but that is just my 2 pennys worth.

13" is nothing to sneeze at. Great report.

Betcha it was hard to stay on those main lake piles in the wind! Congrats on getting some. Hopefully a legitimate fall pattern will develop before too much longer!

That 13"er is a slab. Congrats and thanks for the report.

Nice going the wind sure can make fishing tough and takes a lot more work on the trolling motor.
