I don't like flouro at all. It has it's purposes but not for me.
I know it sinks fastrer and is invisible in water.
When it gets knicked or scaped it breaks easily.
I have trouble with my knots breaking too.
I switched to braid years ago now and catch fish with no problem. bright orange suffix with 10# mono leaders.
down here our water is never clear.

I love Fluro coated line, like P-Line CX. Just remember to wet your knots before you cinch them down when fluro is whats on your reel. I switched a few years back and will not buy anything but the P-line for my spinning reels.

I saw picture on another site the pic had fluoro,braid, nanofil, mono lines in the water and the fluoro was just as visible as braid & mono.

Pontiac, I believe its just a formula difference between the two giving the casting type a little more pliability and less memory. Where as the standard version is stiffer, tougher, and they add the Stren clear blue coloring on the 100%.

I use fluorocarbon lines when bass fishing a lot. Mainly as leader material, tied to a braided main line. Fluorocarbon "Leader" material, which is sold usually in 25 yard spools, is made of an especially hard and abrasion resistant form of fluorocarbon. This is not a casting line, as it is way too stiff. This line is intended for use as strictly a leader material, not a casting line.

The full ~200+ yd. spools of fluorocarbon lines we see being sold everywhere, has much less abrasion resistance, but the trade off is a much higher degree of castability. No fluorocarbon is totally "invisible". It's a matter of degrees. Every fishing line produced has it's pluses and minuses. You have to decide for yourself which characteristics suit your needs.

I'm not convinced that fluorocarbon - either as a leader or main line - is value added with respect to crappie fishing. I've been using Trilene XL (2# & 4# test) for over 30 years for this purpose and have had no bad experiences. And mono has never shown to be less effective in producing bites for me. JMO.
