    crappiefarmer.....White crappie! Here in LA we have a mixed population, but the clearer lakes are predomanantly black crappie and the lakes that are muddy or stained usually have more white crappie. Needless to say, we don't have many clear lakes, but I won't discriminate! I'll catch both.....:D

    I fish Guntersville, Normandy, Tims Ford and Woods Res. I catch more blacks on the first three and mostly whites on Woods

    It used to be a pretty rare thing to catch a black crappie on Barkley, but the population has grown considerably over the years. Now the catch is about evenly split between the two.

    We catch Both , but the Whites are most Common!!

    We have both in Ct. I think whites are more abundant throughout the state.
    Thing I noticed is our white are usually pretty dark they look almost like blacks.Some lakes it's hard to tell the difference.

    Lake Okeechobee Florida = Black Crappie.

    Down here they call em Speckled Perch.

    We catch em both in north Idaho. More black tho.....

    in lake gilmer all we have caught is black crappie.mmmm mmmm good
