    Default 24V trolling motor

I've got a Tracker Targa 17 that has a 12V trolling motor on it. I am wanting to put a 24V autopilot on it. Can I put in another battery and install a circuit breaker on the orginal wiring or will it have to be changed out to heavier wire? It looks like it is 8 gauge wiring. Thanks in advance.

If the 12V TM was working ok then 8 gauge wire will work fine for a 24V TM as it will draw less current than a 12V TM.

I just picked up an auto pilot a couple of weeks ago. I LOVE IT! Wow, talk about a great tool to work a windy bank! Once I have the speed set just right, with the auto pilot, very few steering adjustments are needed.
