We've been faced with a LOT of rain in the past month of so. More than 9" above the norm since June. The last two days it's been raining steady. This morning it was "drizzly" but tolerable, so I visited a large pit pond area that usually has clear water.

When I got there, I couldn't believe my eyes! Talk about pea soup! Totally light brown water with visibility < 6". Water temp was 66 degrees. Faced with just driving back home, I put on a 1/16 oz. white marabou road runner and started casting, from shore, to the deepest water. That is about 12 on the countdown.

Tried a very slow retrieve to no avail. Kicked it up a bit and I caught a couple of small perch and two small crappie. Now this pond has a lot of quality crappie in it. I'm assuming they were glued to the bottom, but I could be wrong? Any thoughts or suggestions? Muchly appreciated.
