    Default Thank goodness for warranties

Had to have a powerhead replaced on my motor. The price for parts and labor was a little over $4,800 The dealer told me he could have sold my boat 75 times while he had it on the lot. I told him if that powerhead goes out after the warranty runs out, I'd let him sell it. WOW what a cost

They said the motor ran hot twice and asked me if I noticed and I told them that it never alarmed or showed anything abnormal on the gauges. I use the oil that it calls for which is quicksilver.

Was it the waterpump, the gas/oil mix or something else?

EZ the waterpump was replaced also. The tech said it ran hot a couple times, but I had no way of knowing.

Just the post I was looking for. Are you still running this engine?

Reason I'm asking is that I have run across a 05 SeaArk with an 05 Optimax 90 and have been browsing the forum for the known issues with some of the Mercs. I am growing a little weary of buying this boat now.
