    Default Clear Rubber Crappie Nets?

Who makes them, and what do you think of them?

I need to buy a new net and want to get one that will last.

Also a little unsure about hooks grabbing the rubber nets?

Are they worth it, or more cost and trouble than they're worth?

Not sure if you can get a clear one? Check out EGO nets. Lots of tourney fisherman swear by these. I sure like the one we have.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.

EGO is the way to go, like pig said more tournament guys depend on them, they don't make the clear rubber one any more, black rubber or black mesh dipped In rubber, all rubber is better but much heavier extended out, most use the mesh dipped, much easier to handle, 37 bucks
I clever quip fishing ironic statement crappie!

I've got an Ego and I like it.

Rubber of any kind is far superior to any mesh or weave when it comes to not snagging a hook in the first place. Simply put-your hook is less likely to penetrate the dense rubber to the point that the barb gets stuck. Just poking the tip in isn't nearly as big a deal to get loose.

I just tried crappiehotspots.com - it took me to a generic site.

What name brand is your clear net?

Been using the EGO nets for years and the rubber is the way to go especially if your using a double hook minnow rig. You may want to check with the folks at Grizzly Jig Co because EGO is supposed to come out with a crappie net using their new handle extension. The new extension handle seems to be a better design than the older twist handle that has had some problems with the rubber keeper displacing in the handle. Good luck to you on the water!

I think BigRiver meant "the crappie hot spot" dot com .... not crappiehotspots Doh

But, you can see the "clear rubber coated" nets here : EGO S2 Slider Landing Nets And Accessories

Thanks for the link cp, I'll take a gander.
www.thecrappiehotspot.com doesn't show a clear net that I could find. Wow! 82 bucks for a net!

MePreach, the clear net hides better in the water and is thought to not spook the fish as you approach them with it, making it easier to catch them in it without them trying to run from it- compared to all of that black mass coming at them with a black rubber one.
