Default Muskie Killers of Lake Vermilion Guide service

Hands Clappingmy 1st post got goofed up so...............
We were out fall crappie fishing on Lake Vermilion in northern Mn. We had been on a school of 10-12 in. fish. Picture 5 guys in 2 boats. @ approx the same time, a guy in ea. boat hooked up on a large muskie. Each muskie had a 12" fish sideways in it's mouth. Each fish finally did give up and the crappies did get landed but were very mauled up.
This experience started a engaging conversation later that afternoon while having barley pop, cleaning and frying fish and hangin’ with the rest of the crew and on into the evening.
1st off, this is who and what we are/do.
We all fish/eat walleyes and crappies. Year ‘round with a, lake trout thrown in to keep from getting bored.
On Vermilion they is a 17-26 in. protected slot for walleyes with a 4 fish daily/possesion limit. We like and encourage this slot as it mandates prime spawning females be released and promotes the keeping/eating of smaller fish. A few of us even return female crappies during the spawn as the males make for a nice eating size anyway. We have a 10 fish daily/possession limit, crappies
We all have noted that since the DNR has been stocking muskies how well the muskies have taken to the lake and how the numbers of eating size walleyes has gone way down. No one keep muskies for eating. They is a min 48" slot. But We think a keeper would taste like a northern.
We all have tales of muskies doing they ’thang’ while we catching walleyes. Ie: jumping behind boat, swimming under boat, grabbing these 14” fish off stringers dangling from canoes. So we know they do eat walleyes and crappies.
    So, back to our conversation...........
After more barly pop with some rye thrown in, the idea for a new guiding service for Lake Vermilion came up,

"Muskie Killers of Lake Vermilion Guide Service"

our mission statement will run like this.

    1. We will only fish for muskie with 10-14 inch live bait
    2. We will show how to make hard and deep hook sets using only the sharpest hooks.
    3. We will only fish with bobbers and when a bobber goes under, the client must play a game of cribbage before setting the hook .
    4. We will fan cast the area with the latest and hottest muskie lures to draw the fish to your waiting 10-14 in. sucker minnow. (yes, we use muskie killer lures)
    5. We will gladly clean and cook your legal muskie. (includes smoking and canning)
    6. We will show how to yank out deeply set hooks in slot protected fish so they can be immediately released (snapping turtles need to eat too)
    7. We will guide for gas & the restocking of coolers and bait wells. (tipping encouraged)

After much discussion among us and the local population and much more rye we all think this could be a welcomed new guiding service.

    comments and suggestions welcomed......................
