    Default Muddy water advice

Hello, I'm located in New Jersey and as you probly heard we've had a to of flooding the past 2 weeks, I hiked out to a few ponds that i've been catching crappie for the past few yrs and when i say there muddy i mean i loose site of my jig in about 3" of water, I'm planning a day trip this thursday, I'm packing the nibbles and some slab sauce and other ideas that would help me catch some in these conditions?
    Thanks
    Scott

Scott ... I think I might try some 1/16oz marabou Roadrunners, faced with water in that condition. Otherwise, I'd slow my presentation down to a crawl & let the scents do their thing.

Dark color lurers and something with action. Curltails, road runners, paddletails, etc. I would even try a beetlespin.

Dark colors and bladed baits to give off a vibration.

You might even rig your favorite lures under a bobber to slow the presentation down even more...

I fish the same speed and depth fishing muddy water as stained, within a couple feet from the bottom and in 12' or less water depths. I have good results with dark colors but have caught fish using jigs with a solid white tail. I enjoy fishing muddy water and the big fish doesn't mind the water color.
Took a buddy longlining some muddy water in the spring of 2010. Here is a pic of that day and a pic of my buddy Gabowman pulling in a slab that same day.
