Sounds like a fun trip. Those are some nice fish too. Congrats.
Best 3 were all over 1lb. Great weather, temp, water temp 75. Caught fish in 30ft of water and caught the best fish in less then 5ft of water. Today was hairy day, if you found small trees with a ton of branches, you'd find quality fish. When the wind kicked up we went to small cuts in the main lake that have big trees in the water and did cast retrieve and caught a bunch. I always prefer dipping to casting, but today both worked fine.
Used slab busters, and small slab slayrs. I just grabbed random colors, I used probably 10 different and all worked. Had fun, and my friend had a good time and caught a toad.
Here's the best from today.

Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
Nice dinner, I have bass fished Longview a couple times and thought it sure looks good for crappie.
