Quick Question.... Okay.... Long Question :)

I haven't been fishing since I went out with a friend and caught some nice spots.... but with this cooler weather... I really want to go out and try my hand at some crappie... the problem is, i've never really fished for crappie and I don't know the first thing about catching them , I did buy a couple of crappie jigs at BPS, and went out once with bzb to try and catch some, but the water/weather was so hot that we didn't have any bites even with live minnows.... I've read a little bit on some other forums about crappie fishing and tried lookin at some youtube vids... but I was hoping the helpful members on this forum would be kind enough to share some insight on fishing for crappie on the South End of Lanier near Van Pugh .... Would love for someone who may want to take me out and show me some tricks/tips/techniques that work on Lanier when crappie fishing. Thanks in advance! Oh! Lake Sidney Lanier, Hall County Ga....
