Caught this big boy this morning while jigging in 3 feet of water near some buckbrush. Check out the spawning colors and the worn down tail from fanning the bed.

I caught this slab on a 2 inch Yum Beavertail Pumpkin/Chartreuse on a 3/16 jig head. I just started using Yum Beavertails and I can't believe how the crappie go for them! :)

You know what they say: Big ol' Gooduns or Good ol' Bigguns, either way we like'em all. This applies to crappie as well:D You have convinced me to buy some of them beavertails now. Good job and nice catch!

Hey there Bowman,

I thought about it for several minutes and decided to go ahead and clean it. Had to cut the fillets in half to cook them. Just finished off the left overs tonite!

I've kind of said I would mount a 2 3/4 or larger. This big male was close to 2 lbs. Last year I caught a 2 1/2 female while jig fishing and came real close to mounting it.

This male sure had some pretty coloration though. That's what I wanted to show off.

Planning on making an annual vacation to Grenada starting next March. Hope to get in some of those big 3 lb. plus fish I keep reading about!
