Default Plastic minnows with prosthetic brass eyes idea

These are plastic minnows with prosthetic brass hourglass eyes. I was playing around with some plastic minnows I got from Snake River and was trying to make them more realistic. I took brass hourglass eyes, the kind I make Clouser Minnows with, and painted a black pupil on the gold brass.

Take a hot thin needle and insert it through the plastic minnow. Wiggle the prosthetic eye through the opening.

I use a very small needle so the hole is tiny. Wedge the brass eye in. No glue is necessary. You can send a pm to snake river or go to Home

Interesting! Let us know what kinds of rigging you find most productive with these.

Very cool indeed! Nice colors too. Hey Ship, those kinda look like mini- "Corkys" -A favored Texas Inshore lure, that was ,until a few years ago,(Mirrolure/L&S bought them out-"Paul Brown Series") only made and sold in Texas since the 70s- Looks like those Ol' Papermouths would literally devour those baits! An Old Salt down in Florida years ago, handed me some "Rattle Eyes" that were Glass Rattles that came with a tiny copper tube to reem a hole in the plastic baits. They worked wonders. Too bad they dont make them anymore. Thanks for posting.

I am going to fish them just as I would a live minnow. Fish it on a #4 hook or a teardrops soldered jig under a slip float.
