Wappapello this morning

Put in at Chonia this morning and ran to Otter Creek at daylight. Fished the mouth of Otter and caught a few right off. The bite was pretty slow so we eased up river. Found some good fish along the river channel. A few came off of orange and chartruce Slab Busters on orange roadrunner heads. Minnows were by far the trick today. Fished the river channel edges in 6-12 feet of water. The fish were pretty shallow. 3-4 feet down. Lots of shad on the surface. White bass busting the surface all around us. Probably caught 40 crappie and kept 17. Started getting warm by 9:00 so we called it a day. Had a great time despite the bite being a little slower than it has been recently.

Thanks Dux, I like the Terrova. Still learning it but it's going to make trolling a lot easier!!! Did you all do any good?

I didn't make it out this weekend. As bad as the boat traffic was last sunday I didn't figure I wanted to fight the holiday weekend traffic. Should get better from here on out. Gonna try to make it down one day this week or might wait for the weekend.
