    Default Thump and Run

Not that I am complaining, but no tic tic tug, just good thumps today. Yep, we had a good day, the Melvern slabs were good to LBM and myself. Did not get two limits, but that is not important. Love the thump, fish were shallow, 6-12 feet of water, was using minnows and a light jig. Found new brushpiles that need some attention, fish appear to holding in them, just ran out of time to fish them.

Yes it was a good day of fishing and it was enjoyable having the guide take care of the trolling duties. Ol Ron now has his boat set up with tandem seats and they work great. Fishing out of his boat before the tandem seats has in the past been very devastating to my fishing confidence. I've just never had the proper mind set about fishing out of the back of a boat after the one in front has picked off the active fish. Really had a fun day.

I've always enjoyed working the timber with minnows where one feels the action on the minnow and sets the hook missing the fish which will then let the other fisherman on the boat know exactly where to place his minnow and in a lot of cases will end up catching one. We traded off several times today thanking the other one for showing where the fish was located that was caught.
