Ed, glad you are alright & back up and running..Take care of your dad & other "older" folks...
Finally got back on this evening. Other than a big mess to clean up, we got through ok. Corn is beaten and leaves are shredded but ears are still there. They got it bad about 30 miles east of me down in Creswell, and Columbia. They will be out of power for another 11 to 15 days. My dad is still without power but is running off of a generator.
we will start picking corn this week. It is close now and with this weather acting like it is, we better get our butts in gear. Had a tornado warning this afternoon.
Edenton had 143 homes damaged and 5 destroyed. Lots of trees down but nothing like Isabel. Albemarle Sound came up about 4 or 5 feet.
Worst of the storm for us came When the eye passed by us. The winds went hard out of the west and we got wind gust over 80 mph for about 4 hours before it finally started to calm down some. The wind was still howling at 2am. Got power back yesterday at 2pm. Internet and phone back today. All I had was cell phone and signal around here sucks.
Got a lot to do now so I still won't be on much. Got Harvest, Wife has a surgery coming up, still lots of clean up to do and also have to get ready to plant winter wheat behind the corn.
Good to be back on though.CF

Same here, Ed, thought you get a hard hit. Our friends in Poquoson sat it out and did OK as well.
Don't outsmart your common sense!
