    Default Too much to chew!!!!

A guy who lives at Lake Conroe
(50 miles north of Houston ) saw a ball bouncing
around strangely in the lake and went to investigate.

It turned out to be a flathead catfish that had
apparently tried to swallow a basketball which
    became stuck in its mouth!!

The fish was totally exhausted from trying to
dive, but unable to, because the ball would
always bring him back up to the surface.

The guy tried numerous times to get the ball out,
but was unsuccessful. He finally had his wife cut
the ball open in order to deflate it and release the hungry catfish.

You probably wouldn't have believed this
    without seeing the following pictures:

Be kinder than necessarybecause everyone bites off
more than they can chewsometime in life.

    Cool pix.

I once found a 2lb smallmouth that tried to eat a very large bluegill that was stuck in the smallmouth's mouth.

I netted him.... Removed the bluegill... And released the smallmouth...tired but unharmed...

    The bluegill didn't make it....

Wow, you definitely needed pics to believe that one. Nice, how much do you think it weighed.

Those pictures have been around the boards for the past couple years atleast. Still amazing sight though.

I found an 8lb Bass wallowing on top once with a very large Bream hung in his gullet, netted him and removed the bream with needle nose pliers. Bream was dead but the bass lived to bite another day.

According to Cane Pole's favorite site this appeared in the Wichita Eagle in 2004. snopes.com: Catchfish

Five years from now it will be interesting to see how many more lakes this will be purported to have ocurred in.
