Sounds like it was a good day to be out there fishing with the cloud cover and cooler temps. Atleast you did bring a mess home for dinner too. Congrats.
Got on the lake early and fished till 2ish. Bite was slow, 11 keepers out of approx 20 fish caught. Only a few other boats out that day and noone c aught much. Fished the deeper trees for a long time then moved around to the shallower ones. Ended up fishing some channel breaks and brushpiles with the same results. Nice cool cloudy day on the lake with little wind, would of been perfect if the DAMN fish would of cooperated.

Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
And you call yourself a fisherman. You stink.
Yea well I can pretty much guarantee that I've not hurt the crappie population that much lately, so I guess I'm currently in a conservation mode.Thumbs Up. Protecting our fishery. Nate, just wait till the next time you need towed in.Rofl
Hey...just because I've ran out of gas on Pomona twice does not make me a dumb a$$..
Twice really, think if you have up Rockcreek or the Waki. Nate you been fishing the creeks yet? Been thinking of going up/down the Dragoon but it been to hot to set there without a breeze.
I have not fished any rivers yet. From what i've heard, Rock Creek is so low you could not even launch a canoe. I usually start fishing the Wakarusa around mid September.Thumbs Up
