The Blood Knot thread got me to wondering. What is your favorite knot for tying your rigs? Do ya'll use different knots for different things like hooks, jigs and swivels?

I would like to know which knots and maybe see a link or some pictures.

I use a Polomar knot or, if I am tying a bulky lure, a World's Fair knot.

No real reason why, just what I was taught by my Dad.

Hello rat....click on this link and click on "fishing" under the banner at the top of the home page, and you will see the animated knot section. Very cool! you can choose slow or fast animation, or touch your cursor on the blocks one at a time below the knot you have chosen to tie.

BYW, my favorite for terminal tackle is the trilene knot.

I use the palomar knot on almost all my rigs.

the Improved Clinch Knot, for most all fishing line applications ... even braid ... and don't have a problem with slipping or undue breakage at the knot. I use it on 4lb-20lb mono, 20/6 Spiderwire, and 10/2 PowerPro ... and tie directly to the jig or hook (no leader).

I like the Palomar knot it's simple and easy. I also use a knot my dad taught me. I have no idea what the name of it is but it is strong.

I was tought the Clinch Knot as a kid and use it when tying on the water. I use the Palomar when rigging at home or have time while fishing. Ive got big, beat up mechanic hands and the Clinch is easier and faster for me.

I'm sorta like sccamper, 'ceptin it's my eyes instead of my hands. At nite in a boat I use the cinch knot cause I can about tie that one in the dark but at home I like the palomer knot. The palomer knot seems the strongest without heating up the smaller sizes line when tying on hooks.

I have always used the improved clinch, but I started experimenting with the Orvis (Becker) knot and the Davy knot last year:
