Have caught a few night crappie fishing and finally got around to the fryer. They are pretty tasty. Would like to catch some more. Where do you find them during the day

They can be caught during the day .... usually following schools of Shad around. They're a slash & dash kind of predator, and will usually drive the Shad to the bank shallows or to the top of the water ... then bust into them, splitting up the large ball of Shad into singles or small groups & coming from underneath them (as they can see them backdropped against the sky, plus see their wake if the surface is calm).
This is commonly called the "jumps" ... and getting a bait into the surface action will generally get you some pullage !! Look at the thread about "favorite baits" to see all the different possibilities .. but, a simple weighted float & a Crappie jig will get you into the game.
Even after the "jumps" subside .... trolling the area can also get you in contact with Whites.
